NASHVILLE, Tenn. Recording artist and ordained minister Russ Lee is currently scheduling concerts and ministry events for his 2006 "I Will Go" World Tour, a year-long endeavor designed to take the singer/songwriter to all 50 states as well as all Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and South America.
With each concert Lee's desire is to partner with local ministries to activate their community in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ at home and abroad. "'I Will Go' is what each and every believer can stand and say," says Lee. "For some it is the commitment to go to the mission field, for others it's to commit to pray or give of their resources. I want to join with churches and other ministries to mobilize the followers of Christ into action. It's time to do our part as the Body of Christ and bring the love and healing to everyone we can. After 25 years of serving the Lord, I am excited and honored to celebrate this upcoming milestone with a global missions trip."
In celebration of Lee's 25 years in ministry, the "I Will Go Tour" is in partnership with World Vision, HCJB Global, International Bible Society, New Day Christian Distributors and Go Global Entertainment. Focusing on the Church's call to missions, Lee will highlight the ministries of World Vision, HCJB Global and the International Bible Society throughout the Tour.
In addition to his U.S. concert stops throughout the year, the international leg of the Tour calls for Lee to travel to Europe in May, South and Central America in July, Africa in August, and the Asia/Pacific Rim, including Australia and New Zealand, in September and October.
Since becoming a Christian 25 years ago and leaving behind his drug dealer past and the lifestyle that goes with it, Lee's mission has simply been to share the life-changing power of Jesus Christ with the world. One of the most powerful vocalists in Christian music today, Lee toured as a lead vocalist with both NewSong and Truth, where his signature voice was hea rd on a combined total of more than 10 #1 singles. His solo debut, Words In Time (Sparrow), was released in 2000, followed by The Second Mile (Christian Records ) in 2003, Hear Those Bells (Vertical Vibe Records) in 2004, and Pictures on Mantles: The Best of Russ Lee (Vertical Vibe Records) earlier this year.
Lee has appeared on "The 700 Club," "The Hour of Power" and "Life Today with James Robison," among other programs, and was also a featured performer at this year's Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville. Actively involved in uplifting and encouraging armed forces personnel and their families, Lee has made two trips to Iraq to present concerts and minister with U.S. military forces. Lee is preparing to travel to Okinawa, Japan, and surrounding areas this fall to continue his ministry to military families as well as several of the local communities in Japan.
"I'm very excited about the opportunity of working with World Vision, the International Bible Society and HCJB Global because these ministries have a history of bringing the love of Jesus Christ to the world for the glory of God and the building of His kingdom."
The goal of HCJB Global is for everyone on earth to hear the gospel in a language they can understand, be transformed, become active, vital parts of the Body of Christ, then impact their neighborhoods and nations. Through the use of mass media, healthcare and education, HCJB works with partners around the globe to facilitate ministries in more than 100 countries with radio broadcasts in more than 120 languages and dialects around the world.
The International Bible Society's purpose and passion is to faithfully translate and reach out with God's Word so that people around the world may become disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His body. While they seek to change the heart of today's generation to change tomorrow's world.
